After the war, Gary grows up in provincial Bavaria with his mother, aunts and uncles. As a teenager, he experiences all the turmoil and confusion of sexual desire until he discovers his same-sex tendencies. He flees the bigoted provinces for Munich in the mid-fifties to capitalize on his forbidden homosexuality. However, this business idea ends in disaster. A hearty and turbulent story of gay life in the stuffy confines of post-war Germany.
