Jonas is 21 years old, gay and is doing an internship in a nursing home for the elderly. He still lives in the countryside and longs for a life in which he can deal freely and openly with his feelings and his sexuality. In the nursing home, he meets Waldemar Moser, an elderly man with dementia, with whom he gets on well and who grows close to his heart. Waldemar doesn't have it easy either, he is not always treated well in the nursing home and his son, who is aspiring politician, treats him with coldness and hostility. The two become friends. But then everything changes: suddenly a handsome, smart guy turns up at the nursing home who introduces himself as Bernd Groll, Mr. Moser's carer.
